Outlying Shopping Centers and Malls:

Given that the populace of San Jose has moved further away from the center and found the cities of Heredia, Alajuela and Cartago somewhat more hospitable, a few large Malls have sprung during the last 10 years to fill in for the demand. Next a recount of the major attractions:

Mall Real Cariari: the largest shopping compound in the Alajuela vicinity area, offering  a vast kaleidoscope of choices for the buyer. Located in the neighborhood of the same name (Cariari) on the main Alajuela-San Jose Road (Autopista General Canas, Cruce San Antonio de Belen).

Paseo de las Flores: The Largest Shopping compound in the province of Heredia and on the northern slopes of San Jose, the newest also. Finely decorated and combining open and indoor spaces. Great variety of options for the shopper. Location: Carretera a Heredia Frente a Universidad Hispanoamericana.

Terramall: Cartago’s response to the shopping needs of its inhabitants. Combining large spaces, restaurants, movie theaters and stores. Located over Autopista Florencio del Castillo in Tres Rios.
