Tourism

Costa Rica’s largest revenue source, the engine that drives a unique style of environmentalism and the country’s bet towards full social development.  Tourism has played a huge role in the becoming of what today is Costa Rica, and the position it has taken as leading voice in the community of nations that advocate the same principles of natural coexistence.

Costa Rica appears as Number 1 within the Latin American group for touristic competitiveness, and ranks fifth for the World’s Environmental Development chart.  The attention that has been paid to the study of this trade and all its congruent associations with many social sectors have cemented a value so intrinsically it would become hard for any national to conceive this country without it - and so becomes later obvious to tourists as well-.

The “Switzerland of the Americas” –as Costa Rica has been called by some local romantics of the last century and before- has several and highly differentiated natural areas/ecosystems, thus, even within the small territory that comprises it, within a few hours distance, entirely opposing eco-scenarios can be stumbled upon. Beaches, Mountain escapades and wild national parks make for the most wanted sites.
